Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Number 4 of 2022 concerning the Organization and Work Procedures of the Technical Implementation Unit of the Information and Communication Technology Training and Development Center, the Duties and Functions of BPPTIK are as follows:
Task
BPPTIK has the task of carrying out training, competency tests, certification and accreditation of government training institutions, as well as providing service products in the field of Information and Communication technology.
Function
In carrying out its duties, BPPTIK carries out functions:
- Preparation of plans, programs, budgets, cooperation, marketing, data and information processing, evaluation, supervision and quality assurance as well as reporting in the field of training, competency testing, certification and accreditation of government training institutions, as well as information and communication technology product services;
- Preparing the implementation of service product services in the field of information and communication technology;
- Preparing the preparation and development of curriculum materials, standards, systems, methods, planning for teaching staff and assessors, implementation of job training, competency tests and community certification in the field of information and communication technology;
- Preparing the preparation and development of curriculum materials, standards, systems, methods, planning for teaching staff and assessors, implementation of technical training, competency tests and apparatus certification, as well as accreditation of technical training institutions in the field of information and communication technology; and
- Implementation of administrative affairs, staffing, finance, equipment and household, documentation and library.
ICT Field Technical Training and Accreditation of ICT Technical Training Institutions
Furthermore, based on the Decree of the Head of LAN Number 489/K.1/PDP.10.4, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics HR Research and Development was given Accreditation status as an Accrediting Agency for Technical Training Institutions in the ICT Field. With this accreditation, the BPPTIK which is under the Ministry of Communication and Informatics' HR Research and Development has the authority to organize Technical Training in the ICT Sector for ASNs throughout Indonesia, and has the authority to grant and revoke the Accreditation of Education and Training Institutions throughout Indonesia that organizes Technical Training in the ICT field.
